Trustee Focus: Natalia Lumby
As a Trustee of Canadian Print Scholarships, Natalia Lumby brings a rare blend of classroom leadership, research insight, and deep respect for the printing industry. From first experiencing the impact of donor support as a student to now helping guide scholarships for the next wave of talent, her story reflects what is possible when education and industry move forward together.
Celebrating Natalia’s Leadership
Natalia is a proud graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Graphic Communications Management program, and she has built a career devoted to preparing learners for real work in print, packaging, and related graphic communications fields. As Chair of TMU’s School of Graphic Communications Management, she supports a team focused on strategic direction, innovation, and strong connections between academia and industry needs.
Across more than a decade of curriculum development and teaching, Natalia has emphasized experiential learning. She designs projects that mirror the pace and complexity of the workplace, from product prototypes and category assessments to portfolio development, giving students practical ways to build confidence. Her expertise also extends into research and thought leadership in packaging innovation, including consumer perception and sustainability priorities, plus ongoing writing and speaking about advancements in the graphic arts.

I’m a proud graduate of the Graphic Communications Management program at TMU. I was also a scholarship recipient and it made a world of a difference. Without hesitation, I can say that my individual success is in part owed to the industry that supported my growth. Now as a Trustee I have the opportunity to continue to help new students get the very best education in graphic communications. Every scholarship dollar awarded helps to train future leaders in the printing industry!
