Trustee Focus: Greg Platt
As a Trustee of Canadian Print Scholarships, Greg Platt brings a steady, practical commitment to strengthening the printing industry by investing in the people who will carry it forward. From shop-floor realities to executive responsibility, he understands how education, mentorship, and timely financial support can shape a student’s path. His service on the Board reflects a belief that when students are supported, the entire print and graphic communications community benefits.
Celebrating Greg’s Leadership
Greg’s career has been built at the intersection of packaging, prepress, and operational leadership. Today, he serves as General Manager of the Preprint Division at Atlantic Packaging Products Ltd., where he helps guide teams and processes that support high standards in packaging graphics and print production. Along the way, he has held senior roles that demanded both technical depth and people leadership, including Vice President, Graphics and Prepress at Master Packaging Inc.
Earlier in his journey, Greg led GMF Flexo Prepress Inc. as President and supported customers across the region as a Regional Sales Manager with Southern Graphic Systems. Those experiences, combined with a foundation in prepress and plate-making roles, shaped his perspective on how training, change management, and strong teams keep operations moving. He has also contributed to the broader industry through volunteer leadership, including serving as Board Chairman for the Flexographic Technical Association, a role that reflects his commitment to advancing best practices and professional development.
In Their Own Words
I serve as a Board Trustee as a way to give back to the industry that has afforded me a career full of opportunity. The print industry is large geographically and multifaceted however smaller when it comes to awareness of programs and available assistance. My goal is to support and nurture the industry through my efforts as a Board Trustee.
Supporting the Next Generation
For Greg, scholarship support is not abstract. It is a practical way to help students access education, tools, and experiences that can accelerate learning and confidence. He recognizes that the print community spans many regions and specialties, and that students do not always know where to find guidance or financial assistance. By serving on the Board, he helps ensure Canadian Print Scholarships remains visible, credible, and responsive, so students can take steps toward meaningful careers in print, packaging, and graphic communications.
Inspiring Industry Involvement
Leaders like Greg model what it looks like to stay engaged beyond the day-to-day demands of business. His example encourages employers to invest in early talent, educators to connect classroom learning with industry needs, and individuals to contribute in ways that fit their capacity. When companies and professionals come together to support scholarships, they help build a stronger workforce and a more connected print community, one student at a time.
