Employer Focus: Metropolitan Fine Printers
Our MET team, between our facilities in Calgary and Vancouver, has been crafting compelling visual narratives through print for more than four decades, helping clients tell their stories and elevate their brands.
Recognized for its innovation and print achievements, MET has redefined the role of the conventional commercial printer, becoming a creative partner that is involved with clients’ projects from the get-go. Clients value MET’s collaborative one-on-one approach, relying on the team’s bold ideas, customized solutions and stellar craftsmanship to translate their ideas into fully realized projects.
That a philosophy of passion, innovation and excellence underscores the essence of MET is no surprise. MET was founded in 1977 by George Kallas, who wasn’t afraid to dream big. Inspired by his fascination with emerging technology and love of colour, he built a small shop specializing in stationery into one of North America’s most awarded printers, admired for its high production values, pioneering spirit and superb customer service.
In addition to becoming the printer of choice for many top global companies, MET soon joined the ranks of “go-to” printers to call upon to pilot new technology. The company was among the first printers to embrace new digital and stochastic UV printing that revolutionized the industry, and went on to produce seemingly impossible, complex projects that sealed its reputation as a “what if?” printer.
MET has also won praise for its exceptional corporate culture and sustainability practices. Since day one, MET has strived to nurture and maintain a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace, where each of our employees feels welcome and safe to be their authentic selves, and empowered to contribute. We remain committed to pay equity, equal opportunity, and ensuring that our plant operates at the highest environmental standards.
Giving back to the community where we live and work is also a high priority; each year MET proudly contributes to a variety of charitable initiatives and educational programs.
