BCIT Graphic Communications Networking Event Highlights Creativity
Celebrating a milestone in Graphic Communications education
This year’s BCIT Graphic Communications Networking Event was a memorable one. For the first time, students from the new curriculum showcased their final projects, marking a milestone for both the program and the printing industry in British Columbia.
Creativity and innovation on display
The room buzzed with excitement as graduating students presented portfolios filled with creative, technically sound projects. Their work reflected a deep understanding of design, print, and packaging—core skills in today’s evolving graphic communications sector.
Guests were impressed with the professionalism and creative range on display, which included everything from brand identity and packaging mockups to full print production pieces. These portfolios weren’t just academic exercises—they were real-world ready, demonstrating that BCIT students are more than prepared to contribute to the industry.
Industry collaboration and support
Among the attendees were representatives from the Program Advisory Committee and the PrintForward Printing & Imaging Association, both of whom collaborate closely with Canadian Print Scholarships. Their presence highlighted the strong connection between BCIT and the industry, and their ongoing commitment to supporting student development and career growth.
This collaboration ensures that the program remains current, with input directly from employers and industry leaders who understand the skills needed for success. It also reflects a shared commitment to developing the next generation of print professionals.
